My job over the past twenty years has been to think of ways to turn cultural diversity into an advantage. Three occurrences have worked to my own advantage in this field of managing mindsets.
Firstly, being born in Asia and raised in Europe brought me first-hand experience in reconciling cultural preferences – a precondition for cherishing the sunny side of life.
Secondly, I had the opportunity to work with the world’s largest multinational companies on four continents. This deepened my capabilities as a cross-cultural consultant, and spurred me to design the Model of Freedom, a practical tool to explain cultural behaviour.
And thirdly, globalisation has been a blessing. I am proud to say that CMC-Asia today is a worldwide network organisation of accredited professionals.
